Empowerment Zone Governance Board

The Empowerment Zone Governance Board (“ EZ Board”) is composed of (17) seventeen members appointed by the City Council. The Board is representative of various stakeholder groups throughout the Empowerment Zone such as; residents, small business owner, small business lender, community based organization, education, and workforce. Board members serve for (2) two years with the option to re-apply for nomination for a maximum of (3) three terms. The Empowerment Zone Governance Board 's purpose is to review and advise City Council on Empowerment Zone Facility Bond projects and assist City staff with leveraging federal tax incentives to maximize the benefits of the Empowerment Zone designation.
