Crime Prevention Commission

The Commission is composed of twenty-nine (29) members as appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council for staggered two-year terms. Membership shall be representative of various segments of the community, which include community groups, religious, education and law enforcement officials, military community, and chamber of commerce. The Commission is charged with developing and recommending to the City Council and Police Department a results-oriented community-wide action plan that focuses on crime prevention and early intervention. The Commission develops a workable plan to significantly reduce crime and fear in the City; involves all relevant sectors in developing the plan; and develops along-term vehicle to address the issue of crime. The commission meets the last Tuesday of the month (except December) at 6:00 pm at the San Antonio Police Headquarters Map Room, located in the basement, 214 W. Nueva.
