Capital Improvements Advisory Committee

The Capital Improvements Advisory Committee is composed of eleven members, one member per City Council district and one member representing the extra-territorial jurisdiction. Membership shall include at lest five members representing real estate development or building industry and the remainder representing the community. Members serve two-year staggered terms. The Committee advises and assists in the implementation of the impact fee process pursuant to Senate Bill 336 passed by the Texas Legislature to provide a method for municipalities to impose impact fees for recouping the cost of off-site capital improvements necessitated by new development. The Committee also serves in an advisory capacity overseeing the mandated public hearings to consider Land Use Assumptions, and considers and adopts the Capital Improvements Plan. The Committee meets as needed. Meetings are usually held on Friday mornings at 9:00 a.m. at the SAWS offices located at 2800 US Hwy 281 North.
