Bexar County Appraisal District

The Board of Directors is composed of five (5) voting members. If the county assessor-collector is not appointed to the board, the county assessor-collector serves as a non-voting director. Only one (1) of these members represents the City of San Antonio. The Bexar Appraisal District Board of Directors serves a two-year term beginning on January 1 of even numbered years and ends December 31 of odd-numbered years. The Bexar Appraisal District Board of Directors has the responsibility of hiring the chief appraiser, appointing the taxpayer liaison officer and appraisal review board members, approving the budget, and setting policy. The taxing units that participate in the district elect the Board of Directors. Meetings are held every fourth Monday of the month (unless it falls on a holiday) at 5:00 PM at the Bexar Appraisal District Office, located at 411 N. Frio Street. Special meetings may be called as necessary.
